Somebody tell me how watching Barbie movies or cartoons went from being too girly or childish to all-time cool. I hope I won't be exaggerating when I say that July was one pink-filled party with everyone invited.
But let's be honest with ourselves, how many people believed that the movie would get that much traction I am still filled with disbelief at the massive premiere turnouts and its current $1 billion earnings worldwide. And honourable members of the male population, before you try to prove to me that it was only the female population that gave that massive turnout, just know that God sees all things.
The purpose of this article though isn't to call out our closeted Barbie lovers but to praise the fantastic marketing team which according to my opinion made this movie a huge success.
From the Barbie Dreamhouse to life in Malibu to the brilliant brand collaborations. Their marketing strategy was so good that the majority of the banners posted online or in various city centres just had the pink colour and a date which was enough to pass its message.

Talk about what the power of marketing and a good budget can give you. So to all my current and prospective business owners who always cut budgets from the marketing team first before any other department, you should take marketing tips from this worldwide sensation.
Big thumbs up to Greta Gerwig and her amazing team for making our July simply Barbie-tastic.
